About Me
I am Nathan "Nova" Juranek, a Game Engineer specializing in Unreal Engine 5 and C++.
Before I became a game developer, I was a mechanic. I worked hands-on with cars and diesel trucks, diagnosing issues and solving complex mechanical problems. But when COVID hit, that passion faded, and I found myself searching for something more challenging, creative, and fulfilling. That’s when I turned to game development.
I’ve always loved video games, but more than just playing them—I was fascinated by how they worked. I wanted to understand what satisfies great mechanics, how AI reacts dynamically, and how physics systems create realism. So, I leaped into game engineering, applying my problem-solving mindset from mechanics to building interactive, immersive gameplay experiences.
I thrive on solving technical challenges and making gameplay fluid, intuitive, and fun. I also like calculus and algebra (I LOVE MATH). Whether it's developing movement systems, AI behavior, or physics-based interactions, I love finding the perfect balance between engineering and creativity.
